I love working on commissions. Many of the pieces I’ve created have been relationship-based works—art that captures a moment, a stage, or an evolution in people’s lives together. Others have been personal pieces for individuals who want to honour their own strength, identity, or inner world.

Every commission begins with a conversation. The artwork we create is a collaboration between you and me, shaped by your story, what you’re drawn to, and the energy you want in your space. The piece will blend figurative elements with abstract expression, created with the intention to move, connect, and endure. Your story, translated into expressive, figure-based abstract art.

Based in Hamilton, Ontario, I create original artworks for collectors, homes, and organizations locally and internationally. If you’re thinking about commissioning a custom abstract artwork, feel free to reach out—I’ll walk you through the next steps.

how the commission

process works

In very simple terms: get in touch with me. You don’t need to have all the answers—I’ll guide you through everything from concept to installation or you can familiarize yourself with the process below in the step by step guide.

step by step

1. Concept

Think about the subject or story you’d like your artwork to reflect.

A few guiding questions:

  • Is this piece about me?
  • Is it about a relationship?
  • What part of that relationship or story do I want to express?

2. Style/Tone

You already connect with the style of art I create (and I’m glad you’re here).

Consider how you’d like the figures presented:

  • full or partial figure,
  • favourite body part,
  • abstract with only a hint of the form

     . — "subtle" or "bold".

You don’t have to decide everything upfront—I’ll help shape it with you.

3. Contact

Once you’ve reflected on these elements—or if you’d rather talk it out in person—reach out to me directly and we’ll move forward together.

4. Client Briefing

In our first conversation we’ll review everything from concept, size, and style to materials, presentation format, timeline, and shipping.

Before transitioning into fine art full-time, I practiced Interior Design (and still take on the occasional project), so I’m happy to help you determine the optimal size and placement for your artwork.

5. Quote

Based on your briefing, I’ll prepare a detailed quote and contract terms for your approval.

6. Agreement + Deposit

Once you approve the quote, a 50% deposit begins the project.

For large or long-term commissions, interim payments may be required, with the balance due upon delivery.

frequently asked questions

How long does a commissioned

painting take?

It varies by size and medium.

Small acrylic works can be completed in about three weeks, while larger oil-based works may take up to 12 weeks.

How much does a custom artwork cost?

Pricing depends on size and materials.

Most custom pieces begin around $500 for smaller works (12” and under) and increase with scale.

After our initial conversation, I’ll provide a detailed quote for approval.

What types of artwork do you create?

I can create your artwork:

• on canvas, wood, or soon—in sculpted format

• in acrylic or oil paint

• as mixed media

• as figurative abstract, semi-abstract, or fully abstract with only subtle indications of the figure

You can browse the Gallery for examples of these styles.

Will you create an erotic artwork for me?

Yes. If you’re interested in an intimate or sensual piece, we can discuss content, comfort level, figure style, and direction together.

Do you need photo references of me/us?

No. I don’t use photo references for my figure work.

If you want to indicate a certain body type, height, or physical characteristic, I’m happy to incorporate that.

Do you offer nude figure drawing sessions?

Yes. I’ve done full life-drawing sessions with clients to capture the essence of their body.

Locally, this can be done in my studio; otherwise we can do a guided session online.

A typical session is one hour.

How do you ship the artwork?

For clients in Hamilton and the GTHA, I usually deliver personally.

For works larger than 46” square, I arrange a local courier.

Outside the GTHA and internationally, your art is professionally packaged and shipped using the appropriate courier service.

All shipping costs are included in your quote and contract.
