In this aerial view of a couple, we are reminded that in order to know another we must see what is beyond the surface and explore the inner being we are with.

Inspired by the renovation of a building across the road from my studio, this is the first of five paintings I created that discuss the 'openings' we create to enable relationships — from the emotional risks and vulnerability, to exploring new opportunities.
