Welcome, we are so happy to share the journey of this creation with you. The concept we began with has transformed to a multitude of layers in ideas, sounds, and visuals. Our process was truly collaborative as every element was discussed, debated, and worked through to expound on the reasons we were doing this, and how it might matter to others. The more we learned about each other's discipline, the deeper relevance and correlations were revealed. Thank you for taking the time to consider our efforts.

concepts & inspiration

The underlying concept to this piece is to provide a visual and audio experience that describes the chord, discord, and harmony of communication in relationships. Our ambition is to have you receive and respond to the sounds and visuals, and allow them to act as a catalyst to conversations with others.

A constant exchange of information led to surprising and exciting inspirations. In effect the language of the instruments play the same way humans interact and respond to each other. Karen's palette and technique response to the sounds of Gurpreet's music inspired the composition of the music above. The beauty and materiality of the instruments became a guiding connection to the concept. Both the expressive figurative painting and the actual pieces taken from instruments, take you through an environment where communication, energy exchanges and emotions travel in relationships.
