Inspired by the reflections on a lake while on a retreat in Muskoka, Ontario, it struck me that recognizing the potency of how one affects and often reflects another, can sustain and support relationships. A beautiful sunset in soft pinks and blues on the water dictated the palette and enhances the romantic feel of the painting. Where often times, the process of painting will abstract my figures to obscurity, I was compelled to leave “affect” with more recognizable figures.
