There is nothing like the comfort a warm and fully embracing relationship can bring to your spirit. This piece was created on a retreat in Muskoka, Ontario. In this painting, I recognized the comfort I was experiencing at a cottage in Northern Ontario and, after observing multiple sunsets on the waters, how these feelings, and that visual, correlate to relationships.

Nature often inspires art, no matter what content or style is contained in the piece. Water is a particular source of inspiration to me. Where often times, the process of painting will abstract my figures to obscurity, I was compelled to leave “blanket” with more recognizable figures. My work is typically created in a bold and colourful palette, the environment and the concepts that came to me for this body of work were soft and more pure in application and tones.
