As you look in to a building with windows and doors removed you notice that, depending on the way you approach it or how you look through, it affects your perception of what is beyond. In this way, we are reminded that to know another person we need to investigate and explore their depths of being.

Inspired by the renovation of a building across the road from my studio, this is the first of five paintings I created that discuss the 'openings' we create to enable relationships — from the emotional risks and vulnerability, to exploring new opportunities.
